Taming of the Shrew
NM, STATEWIDE– This May, Threshold Art Collective joins forces with the Santa Fe Shakespeare Society to tour Shakespeare’s fiercest comedy, Taming of the Shrew! With shows in T or C, Espanola, Madrid and Santa Fe, this modern take on Shakespeare’s classic is set in the old southwest.
Ring in the springtime with clowns, lovers, players and laughs! Attend a special gala in the Grand Ballroom of the Scottish Rite Temple after our final matinee (5/31) and enjoy a champagne or cider toast with the cast, crew, musicians and several of your favorite local artists and politicians.
Delightful fun, Taming of the Shrew is the quintessential battle of the sexes—a theatrical pendulum violently and hilariously swinging between love and war. SFSS and Threshold bring elements of commedia dell’arte and clowning to this classic tale of a wanton woman wooed and wedded by Verona’s most fearsome suitor.
Complete with disguises, masks, and Shakespeare’s favorite cover-up—crossdressing—this play promises to be a romping good time for young and old alike.
Taming of the Shrew is directed by Jerry Ferraccio, and stars Sheridan Johnson and Quinn Mander.

Sheridan Johnson and Jerry Ferraccio are strong believers in the power of theater to incite a love of learning in students. About Threshold Art Collective
Threshold Art Collective promotes vibrancy in theater and in the community by bringing new playwrights, new works and new interpretations of classics to the stage, incorporating as many local artists as possible. There is an urgent need to ensure contemporary works and creative redefinitions exist outside of NY, Chicago and Los Angeles. Poised just north of one of America's most treasured art hubs, and recently rated the best place in America to film for television or cinema, Albuquerque has all the resources necessary to become a destination for theater as well. By involving the entire community and bringing boundary-testing theater to New Mexico, Threshold Art Collective hopes to manifest great change and bring expanded critical and creative thinking to all.
